7 Easy Ways to Boost your Self-care Every Day

Trending right now - articles you ought not to miss!

As we snooze the alarm for 45 minutes later, replace shower-fresh hair with dry shampoo and give our gym team yet another day off. We speak to ourselves saying "Plans are made to be broken, right?"

It isn't that we enjoy this half-hearted venture at life. Eating unhealthy junks, staying out late and choosing the sofa life over-exercise was in no way part of the grand ‘new year new me’ plan. It’s just… well, this week has already been ruined by a blowsy start, so we may as well start on next Monday.

Mmmhmmm…

Okay, someone has to say it. Enough is enough! If you eminently want to be the very best version of you, and by extension be the best for those people around, it’s time to bring wellness and self-health into focus. Not tomorrow, next week, month, or year. It's right now.

Okay.. , fine - tomorrow morning then. But no later! Here’s how to.

1. The seven-day cycle

shmonday! Why should a day that you actively dread mark the start of your week?  By setting your own seven-day cycle, starting on …let ’s say, on Thursday, Monday loses its negative power and you get a weekend two days in winning!

2. One alarm rule

Your sunrise mind is in absolutely no good state to be making decisions, so take away the option. Place a ban on the snooze button, trust the alarm-setting you made last night in full sanity, and get up straight away. After all, what could be more positive in the morning than bounding smartly out of bed?

3. Get up and go

How great it would be if the morning make-up routine can actually take five minutes? Well, it very much can! A monthly LVL lash treatment, brow shape and colour, plus weekly masks for your skin and hair will reduce your preening time.  Suddenly, that agitated morning rush becomes a very cool, calm and collected affair, with an addition of breakfast.

4. Set your mantra

You achieve whatsoever you put your mind to – it’s all about attitude. Take enough time to understand what weaknesses, address them, and then choose a personal mantra that drives you. Every time doubt comes, repeat that mantra and watch those obstacles melt away like ice on the heat.

5. Time is time

Holy Jezzz, we’ve spent so many hours on Instagram this week! Think of what else you could be achieved with those minutes… and do it. Paint, write, walk the dog, run a bath, do whatever makes you feel good. It’s a borrowed time, so you can’t feel guilty about it at all.

6. Find the fun

Exercise is one great way to boost Hormones and chemicals in the body, but if the idea of a twirl fills you with dread, do not do it. Rock climbing, Dancing, hiking, martial arts or horse riding are just some alternatives that could increase your heart rate and happiness at the same time.

7. Treat yourself

No doubt about it - all of these positive changes will make you feel really great. Give yourself some loving, some of us need a little more incentive. Add a haircut, fancy meal or massage to reward yourself for all the positive moves you’ve made.
