10-year-old Hacks Instagram

A 10-year-old got paid the sum of $10,000 for hacking Instagram. His name is Jani from Finnish and was invited recently by the owner of the product Instagram application, Facebook to prove his point after sending a mail to them saying he had figured a vulnerability in Instagram.

The young boy discovered a bug that allowed him to be able to delete comments made by other users. This has now been corrected by Facebook security engineers.

Facebook told the BBC it had paid $4.3m to bug bounty recipients since 2011.

The boy, from Helsinki, told Finnish newspaper Iltalehti he planned to use the money to buy a new bike, football equipment and computers for his brothers.
