How to Change Android IMEI without Rooting

One of the major reasons why people do root there android device to be able to use certain data plan that normally won’t work on their phone unless the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) is change. But rooting your device is not a good idea as it can leave your phone vulnerable to malicious attack as application will install themselves from unknown source approved or not with unnecessary adverts popping up all every time.

With this simple guide you can change your Android IMEI number at anytime you want if you follow the steps accordingly.
  1. Download MTK Engineering Mode application from Google PlayStore or OneMobile Market.
  2. Install the application on the Android you intend to change the IMEI.
  3. If you want to change it to BlackBerry IMEI get the number ready before launching the app by downloading this file on PC, run it as administrator and generate the BB IMEI for replacement.
  4. Launch the MTK app
  5. Click on MTK Settings

  6. Click on CDS information IMEI change

  7. Choose Radio information IMEI changing
  8. Select the phone (sim slot) you want to change the IMEI.
  9. Type in “AT +EGMR=1,10,”YOUR NEW IMEI NO” and then press the send command option.
Please ensure that there is no space between AT +EGMR.
